Polite Online/Offline Delivery (POD): Solve Cost, Bandwidth and Buffering Issues

POD is an enterprise software-based Content Delivery Platform that solves bandwidth, access and buffering issues associated with video or any large file at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions.
POD enables the polite delivery and buffer free viewing of TV quality video content and Flash regardless of bandwidth or the number of concurrent users without impacting network traffic or adding hardware. POD also allows users to view content, courses or any file offline with tracking and provides SCORM compliance.
POD tools enable non-technical administrators to publish and deliver files, manage content and users and track viewing. End users select files from a simple to use desktop UI and receive notifications for new or changed content. Any type of file including video, Flash, SCORM courses, surveys and PowerPoints can be pushed to user's disk ahead of when the files is needed for immediate connected and offline viewing. Users can also pull files to their disk from an authorized list on their desktop POD UI. POD is used as a standalone solution or with other solutions such as an LMS or LCMS. POD lowers overall delivery and multimedia cost while increasing: reach, access, adoption rates, viewing quality, security and scalability. POD is a secure managed Grid delivery system not an open P2P file sharing system and thus secure from users sharing files.
How It Works
POD software uses a small percentage of the unused resources on existing networked PC's and the LAN to create a POD Grid that functions like a high speed virtual server with a massive caching system. The POD Grid increases in power as users are added. Non-technical administrator uses a simple POD Web console to upload content to the POD cloud, create groups and publish content files for all users or selected users. The cloud then politely delivers a single copy of the content to the POD Grid one time regardless of how many users are on the Grid or requesting the file. Depending on the administrators selection, the Grid either "Politely Pushes" the file to the users" disk for immediate access and connected or offline viewing or the Grid only delivers the file names to the POD UI so the users can "Politely Pull" the content to their disk. In both instances the files are delivered to the users and viewed without buffering or rebuffering regardless of the users bandwidth, without impacting network traffic or the use of the user's PC and without adding hardware or bandwidth. Users' receive a desktop notification when new files are available or when any updates to existing files have been made. POD has a built-in version control system that automatically keeps all files current with the latest version.
PCs or Laptops not on a LAN benefit from either "Politely Pushing content directly to the PC for offline viewing or files can be "Politely Pulled" to the PC for offline viewing. The same UI and authorized list is used for networked or mobile PC's . The user can also always use the POD UI to view content from the Internet.
Content is accessed from a desktop UI or links can be sent using email, both methods utilize user tracking.

POD UI - User only sees category titles and content that is authorized for them.
